ock on the Road is a fundamental part of Ohana Institute. Ohana is a non-profit school Located in 30Avenue. The Vision of Ohana Institute is to provide a personalized learning path that truly transforms education by discovering individual talents in an environment where students want to learn and where they can naturally discover their true passion. Music is one of many outlets that students can use to find what they are passionate about. The program is built upon the idea of experiential student-led learning. The music business is a very unique and ever-changing industry where experience is the key. Our students are not only encouraged, but expected to take initiative and dive into the music business, exploring many outlets that the industry has to offer.
Student that are attending Ohana must complete at least two years of performing arts. Rock on the Road is made for students that have passions for music and the performance industry. Throughout the school year, ROTR is given nine months to organize a fully-funded ten day tour.

During these nine months, ROTR will perform at various events, festivals and schools to spread our love for music. The goal of the unique curriculum is to ensure that each student gets to explore all aspects of the music business. Whether that means song-writing, managing artists, or learning how to schedule and organize. Rock on The Road was Founded by Jonathan Mitchell, the main band director of Ohana Institute. The program provides students with everything they need to explore the music industry in their own way. Each year, students will write and record at least one song for a non-profit organization.
